    Cut fabric can't be returned for a change of mind, so a sample is the easiest way to be sure. Swatches are about 10 × 10 cm. Order by 12pm Melbourne time on a weekday and we post them the same day.

    Description

    This lightweight silk habotai features a smooth satin finish and a soft handle making it ideal for linings, scarves, evening/formal wear and popular for silk painting. This silk is often referred to as “Jap silk” or "China silk".

    We recommend dry clean only for this fabric to preserve its original quality. We have provided detailed care instructions to hand wash, but keep in mind hand washing may change the handle of the fabric over time.

    If hand feel and colour matching is important then please order a sample.

    Clean
    We recommend dry cleaning to keep its original quality. Habotai will survive a careful hand wash in cool water with a pH-neutral, enzyme-free wash suitable for silk. Don't rub or wring, and never use biological detergent, bleach or fabric softener. Washing can change the sheen and handle and move the colour, so test a cutting first.

    Good to know
    Deep colours can bleed when damp: test with a damp white cloth first. Dry and store out of direct sun.

    All fabric will be flat folded, unless you contact us to advise otherwise.

    Australia:

    Free freight over $200 (excl GST) on all Australian orders is with our standard delivery service.

    We use trusted couriers for our domestic shipping with two shipping options:

    Our cut off time for same day dispatch is 1pm, however, this also depends on the size of the parcel and locations.

    Please note: Only standard shipping can be sent to PO BOXES.
    Authority to leave without a signature (ATL) - all parcels are sent with ATL, please contact us if signature on arrival is required.

    Freight will be calculated as per the table stipulated below. Please note orders may take up to 3 to 7 business days to arrive.
