Silk World is pleased to offer you a fast and easy way to buy fashion & bridal fabrics online. Here are just a few things to be aware of when shopping with us:

- Prices default to Australian Dollars (AUD), however, we also offer prices in GBP and USD.
- Pricing in AUD excludes GST, this is added at checkout.
- All international orders are exempt of GST. However, international customers are responsible for any import duties or local taxes which may be payable on receipt.
- Our minimum fabric cut is 1m thereafter fabric is sold in 10cm increments (0.10m). For example, to order 1m you would set the quantity to 10 units, to order 1.5, set the quantity to 15 units.
- Fabric weight descriptions of Silk World materials are approximate only. The weight can vary slightly due to yarn and dyes.
- Silk World’s online store operates from our showroom in Kew, Melbourne Victoria. To view fabrics, visit us

All fabric will be flat folded, unless you contact us to advise otherwise.

Australia:

Free freight over $199 on all Australian orders is with our standard delivery service. Please note orders may take up to 3 to 7 business days to arrive.

We use trusted couriers for our domestic shipping with two shipping options:

Standard Shipping	$15 +GST	Australia Post, Couriers Please or Fastway (with tracking)	Allow 2-6 business days
Express Shipping	$25 +GST	Star Track or Australia Post (with tracking)	Allow 1-3 business days

Our cut off time for same day dispatch is 1pm, however, this also depends on the size of the parcel and locations.

Please note: Only standard shipping can be sent to PO BOXES.
Authority to leave without a signature (ATL) - all parcels are sent with ATL, please contact us if signature on arrival is required.

International:

Please note orders may take up to 15 to 30 business days to arrive (standard shipping). For express delivery options please see below.

All international orders are exempt of GST. However, international customers are responsible for any import duties or local taxes which may be payable on receipt.

* Please note due to a technical limitation at checkout the shipping cost is marked as "Free." However, as stated above the shipping cost will be calculated once you have placed your order as cost is dependent on actual weight and dimensions.

We use offline payments to make sure your fabric is in stock and checked before charging.

Your credit card will only be charged if the fabric is in stock and all goods remain the property of Silk World until payment is received in full.

At Silk World we offer samples for the majority of our fabrics. Our samples are pre-cut to approximately 10cm x 10cm swatches.
With laces, embroidered and beaded tulles we also include a full A4 page print out of the design for you to see the full repeat.

Please note: All samples are pre cut, if ordering more than one sample of the same product this will come in multiple pieces of 10cm x 10cm.  

Samples are charged at $1.50 + gst per sample. Samples are sent out the same day as payment is received.

International:

Silk

We recommend dry clean only for all our silks.
Please keep in mind that silk is a natural fibre and inconsistencies are characteristic of this fibre.


Polyesters

Our polyester can be safely dry cleaned or machine washed.


Beaded/Specialty Fabrics

We recommend specialist dry clean only.
Please talk to a specialist dry cleaner; all cleaning tests rest with the customer.

Please note:

Colour may vary slightly from dye batch to dye batch.
We recommend customers do their own tests.

What is mulberry silk?

Mulberry silk is the highest quality silk. The silkworms are only fed on mulberry leaves, which results in the finest silk available. The silkworms will spin a cocoon and these cocoons are spun into raw silk fibres. Products made from 100% mulberry silk produce the most durable and luxurious silk products.

What are the benefits of mulberry silk?

• - 100% natural, odourless and hypoallergenic
• - Strongest of natural fibres.
• - As a breathable fabric and a natural temperature regulator, mulberry silk helps keep you warm in cool weather and cool in warm weather
• - Silk is hypoallergenic; it does not attract dust mites and is a natural fungal repellant
• - As it does not conduct static electricity, sleeping on silk helps reduce hair breakage

Does Silk World sell mulberry silk?

Yes we do! We sell high quality A grade mulberry silk.

What types of mulberry silk do we sell?

We sell types of mulberry silk including satin, georgette, chiffon, organza, crepe de chine, habotai, queen satin, duchess satin, crepe satin, faille, zibeline and dupion and more!

All sales are final. We do not offer refunds or exchange for change of mind. Once the fabric is cut we do not accept returns. Suitability of material for usage and tests rest with the customer.

No refunds on sale items and remnants: While most of our sale items and remnants are usually fabric left on a roll or end of line styles, some pieces may have defects. We are unable to provide any further information as prices are heavily discounted to allow for any imperfections.

The colour of fabrics as depicted in our online store cannot be guaranteed, as colours may appear differently on monitors, tablets, phones etc. We do our best to accurately describe our fabrics, however, we would recommend you order a sample before placing your order.
