All our prices are excluding GST which is added at the checkout – for all orders within Australia.
Our minimum cut for retail is 1 meter, after this you can order in 10cm increments.
SILK - We recommend dry clean only for all our silks.
Please keep in mind that silk is a natural fiber and minor flaws can occur,
colour can also vary slightly from each dye batch.
BEADED/SPECIALTY FABRICS – We recommend specialist dry clean only.
Please talk to a specialised dry cleaner; all cleaning tests rest with the customer.
All sales are final. We do not offer refunds or exchange for change of mind. Once the fabric is cut we do not accept returns.
Suitability of material for usage and tests rest with the customer.
The colour of fabrics as depicted in our online store cannot be guaranteed, as colours may appear differently on monitors, tablets, phones etc. We do our best to accurately describe our fabrics, however, we would recommend you order a sample before placing your order.
All fabric will be flat folded, unless we contact you to advise otherwise.
Australia:
We use trusted couriers for our domestic shipping with two shipping options:
Standard Shipping is a flat rate of $15 + gst, Sent with Australia post, couriers please or fastway. Please Allow 2-6 business days to arrive.
Express Shipping is a flat rate of $20+gst sent with either Australia post express or startrack. Please allow 1-2 business days to arrive.
Our cut off time for next day delivery is 1pm, however, this also depends on the size of the parcel and locations.
Please note:
Only Standard shipping can be sent to PO BOXES.
Please advise us if you do not wish to have ‘Authority To Leave without a signature’ on your parcel as all items sent will have ATL unless you advise us otherwise.
Free freight over $99 Domestic is with standard delivery service. Please allow up to 7 business days to arrive.
International:
New Zealand is sent with standard shipping or DHL express and dependent on weight, anything under 5 kg will calculate the shipping cost at checkout.
Europe, USA and Canada Shipping is with DHL express and dependent on weight, anything under 5 kg will calculate Shipping cost at checkout.
All Other International orders shipping is dependent on weight and dimensions. We will contact you with Shipping Cost after placing the order.
Free freight over $149 on all international orders is with standard delivery service. please note orders may take up to 15 to 20 business days to arrive.
International orders are subject to customs and occasionally import duties (dependent on the value of the goods) which could delay the delivery of your item.
At Silk World we offer samples of most of our fabrics.
So if you are colour matching, wishing to feel the weight/handle of the fabric, to get a better idea of the fabric repeat or just trying to work out which colour would suit you best we do advise you order a sample before purchasing.
Our samples are approx a 10cm x 10cm swatch
With laces, embroidered and beaded tulles we also include a full A4 page print out of the design for you to see the full repeat.
Samples are sent out with Australia Post at a cost of $2 + gst. This is not trackable and delivery times vary. Please contact us if you need samples sent express.
If you require samples to be sent internationally there are two shipping options:
Australia Post- flat rate of $4
DHL express- flat rate of $30.
Samples are sent out the same day as payment is received.

Wholesale clients are able to purchase sample colour cards from us of our base fabrics. Please get in touch if you would like to purchase one.
We have agents all over Australia, New Zealand and London, please contact us if you require their details.
We use offline payments to make sure your fabric is in stock and checked before charging. We accept Visa/MasterCard or Amex (2% surcharge) and Afterpay (minimum order of $50 applies for payments using Afterpay).
Bank Transfer is also available, instructions for this are at checkout, please allow an extra day for funds to clear.
Your credit card will only be charged if the fabric is in stock and all goods remain the property of Silk World until payment is received in full.
